Wycliffe G&CC gets Audubon certification
Wycliffe Golf & Country Club in Wellington, Fla., has received certification in Environmental Planning from the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses.
The program, created by Audubon International, is designed to help courses protect the environment and preserve natural beauty.
By being a part of Audubon International Wycliffe G&CC can participate in numerous projects that augment the beauty of our habitat and its use by local and migrating wildlife.
“Wycliffe is extremely proud to take part in preserving sufficient water and having proper nesting areas for the many beautiful birds and other wildlife that access Wycliffe’s courses,” Wycliffe representatives announced in a news release.
Its efforts also include safe pest control management practices to make sure that the wildlife on the property is protected.
“We strongly believe that teaming up with Audubon International will affect us in a very positive way,” says Shannon Wheeler, director of golf course maintenance at Wycliffe G&CC. “Our wildlife is extremely important to conserve, maintain and grow for future generations.”
